'Be on Your Best' was inspired by Lori McKenna's 'Humble & Kind'. I wanted to write a song that delivered a message to my children, or as it turns out, to my sons. I did nothing more than keep myself open to the idea of this type of song. I remember having a true feeling of patience and really knowing what I wanted. At some point, many days after that, the phrase 'be on your best behavior' came to me. Then I had the idea to simply shorten it to 'be on your best'. Then I knew I had it - I only needed to write it then, which flowed pretty easily after I had the title and theme.

so my new buddy Daniel Mann and I got together and did a re-write/co-write of his song "rearview", this is what we came up with.

OK, Funny story, This is a song I just put together. It is from a poem by Maureen McDole that had a challenge/contest that it be put to music. Problem is, the contest was three years ago. It pays to read the fine print.

I just wanted to write a song the way I wanted it to be sung to me lol

My sister said to me , "I want to go home...wherever that is." Great song idea so I wrote this song. One fan said it really comforted him. He listened to it repeatedly over days when he was depressed.

I wrote this song over the weekend. I'm still using the computer mic and Band In A Box.

This song was written just before participating in a national talent show over in Sweden and it ended up on my first EP. Simply uploading it to make an introduction. Hope you'll like it.
