I used to work with a young lady who walked really fast, and that became the inspiration for this "Jimmy Martin meets Chuck Berry" song. Please forgive me for the hack fiddle playing, I am still a beginner on the instrument and I just wanted to fill in some empty spots real fast.

We all have that place from childhood that we will never forget! For me, that is my great-grandparents farm on New Hope Road.

This is the song that won the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest in 2015 (Bluegrass Category). Co-written with Dawn Kenney and David Morris, this demo is recorded by Troy Engle. It was recorded by Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike on her 2017 release "Small Town Heroes," and was Number 1 on a number of roots-music charts.

A sad tale of a man who's life stopped the day his wife went for a walk pregnant with their 11th child both died of complications, leaving him to raise their 10 children.. "Time Stopped that day you left me behind, Time Stopped the day you walked outta my life.... "

I wrote this song in my youth when going through a divorce with my childhood sweetheart who struggled with addiction. Not to worry, there was no domestic violence. Broken Teacups is simply an analogy for my broken heart. I was happy with this simple bluegrass song, and think it is one many people can relate to in life. In this case, I wrote the music and the lyrics.
