I didn't live this story....but I was born in the mountains. As a child, we lived in a cabin with a tin roof. A train track ran through the mountains. I'll never forget the sad sound of the train whistle blowing at the same time rain was hitting down on our tin roof..

Jerry Reed was going to make a movie about moonshining and wanted a song for a chase scene. So, me and my friend wrote this song after I had my van in for service. When they gave me a loaner vehicle, They said, " Be careful she runs like a scalded dog".
