Update to earlier recording. Special thanks to Andrew Bashaw for the "smile when singing" suggestion and Barbara Cloyd (from Nashville) for a loving critique and pacing suggestions.

This song is about the stuggle to deal with changes in life. I was really going through a rough point when I wrote this but I also think it brought out my inner songwriter. Melancholy can produce some great material sometimes.

I wrote this song a few years ago, back when I first started getting into songwriting. It's the only song I've written about a past situation, it's about my parent's divorce when I was thirteen and still picking up pieces of the broken home.

This song was inspired by an unknown man I once noticed in passing last winter. He was alone, sitting isolated and coatless on the swingset of a nieghborhood park in my hometown. This song I wrote from what might have been his perspective that day.
