About This Song

I wrote this song a few years ago, back when I first started getting into songwriting. It's the only song I've written about a past situation, it's about my parent's divorce when I was thirteen and still picking up pieces of the broken home.

Feedback Requested

Nothing really specific. I'm open to any and all feedback on this one. I hope you like it!

Wow, I love your voice! And this song! The fact that this song is personal to you makes it great regardless, but on top of that it’s catchy and the lyrics are awesome! Fantastic song. Don’t ever stop writing!

Totally agree with Alyssa. But I have to add that you are such a wordsmith. You blow me away with lines like: “Such a shame you know how sound drowns the drinking out” and “Tonight your rough as sand and tender as a bruise”. Another great song.

Nothing's the matter hun, she grabs another glass
Broken coasters from the weight of workdays of the past
One more topic not to talk about
Such a shame you know how sound drowns the drinking out

Oh make me wait another day to get it right in my mind tonight
Oh make me wait another day to make my point or to try
No I don't mind, no I don't mind

Tonight your rough as sand and tender as a bruise
Wonder on and on and on and wash a dish or two
And if food can't make it to the plate,
We'll keep singing wrong words to drinking songs in perfect tune

Repeat chorus

If you wear a hat and scarf, you could head out to the bars and be yourself or someone else outside

Repeat Chorus
