I guess the song is about negotiating the process of character development through the ups and downs of life.

This song was born out of the frustration with the idea that music is "free." It was also a Song Title Challenge about a year ago. I was also pleased that it just won awards from NSAI and the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest.

A melody was born in my head then transported to guitar and voice.
Still an early demo.

Sometime change is tough and happens right under our nose

As song about differences.

My neighbors "Hank and Naureen" were lovely. They were in their late 80's - one day after coming back from vacation I saw Naureen in the yard and asked her what Hank was up to. She told me had passed away a few days earlier. I was so sad and I wrote "With You" as I imagined what Naureen would be going through. I played her the song when it was finished and she really loved it which made my day.

This is a song for anyone who struggles being human

I was imagining what it must have been like to have been a dirt farmer during the Great Depression and losing everything. How would you pray in that situation? Everything gone.
