Everyone has their own unique story versions of the “good old days”. It seems the older one gets sometimes those glory days stories seem to grow and character of the story gets a little bit cooler with each narrations. This is a tribute to campfire tall tales of the glory days and storytellers out there.

This is the second song I ever managed to finish. Had loads of failed attempts to get one over the line before this one. By over the line I mean just be able to listen back to it and be happy with it. Probably a well worn subject matter just got it from a story in a TV show I was watching

This song was written from a challenge by the open mic host at The Ark in Ann Arbor, MI a few years ago. The challenge was to write a song from a musical instrument's perspective. I chose the microphone, and it morphed into a song about an open mic night.
