Over the last few months, with the pandemic taking hold, I started to pick up the guitar again and write a bit. I hadn’t seriously sat down and written or recorded a song in about 8 years until now. And, I don’t usually sit down with the intention of writing about anything specific; but this time was different. The music and the words just started to flow as I thought about how connected to my mom I was, and still am, on so many levels.

The idea was the way adults think of spending the night with someone. It was a common phrase my brother, cousins and I said a lot to our parents. "Can I go spend the night at so and so's" or "Can so and so spend the night with us". Now days when we would have a different meaning to Spend the Night.
