This song was written after watching a Carter family documentary … It is not in my typical writing style.

VS:
Oh, River won’t you take me
To the sea of happiness
You know I’ll be there with my true love
And my family and my friends
We’ll be dining at a table
With a plenty for us all
There will be stories, chicken fritters
And good music ‘til we’re gone

VS:
Oh, the children will be playin’
With their cousins way out back
It won’t be long before they notice
That it’s time to take a nap
Now, the parents, they’ll be sippin’
And smoking big cigars
There’ll be laughin,’ pickin’ grinnin’
Homemade ice-cream for us all
SOLO:
VS:
Oh, the life that we’re livin’
Is filled with toil and woe
So, we’ll keep our eyes on the Savior
Until he leads us, leads us home
Oh, River won’t you take me
To the sea of happiness
You know I’ll be there with my true love
And my family and my friends

Nice vocal harmonies and music. Did you play the banjo, fiddle, etc. yourself? That was some nice bluegrass flatpicking in the middle. Is that you playing???
This sounds like a song you’d want to pitch to film/tv sync opportunities.
