Drinking beers in Franklin TN with my goofball fun-lovin buddy Derek, with him telling me about his dating experiences and philosophy. Nearly every line is a direct quote- that I turned into this song lol.
Any and all comments most appreciated!
Thanks Doug! I sing some of my songs but in this case the singer is Doug Stokes- who’s one of my fav Nashville vocalists. He is also signing my “American Son” posted here.

Holden,
Nice upbeat song and I really like the music transition into the verse. Great build into the Bridge and guitar solo ... It needs a guitar solo.
My favorite line is “so why’d you want to close the door before we begin?” because it takes the listener back to Everyone Wins.
The rhythm of the following words on the Chorus seem a little off but I still like it.—- two’s so much more fun than one, now everyone wins
Strong song ... Keep kicking it!!
Thanks,
Uncle Brent

Hi Uncle Brent, thanks so much for your feedback. Yes I totally agree with you on the ending chorus lines- I was forcing too many words in there lol. Better would be simply “You know two’s more fun than one- now Everyone Wins.” Good luck to all of us!! Holden

Everyone Wins
One by one, watchin’ your defenses fall down
buryin’ your criticisms underground
on the run but seeing you all over town
maybe I’m the best damn fool around
I don’t want to shut you out
I don’t want to fence you in
so why’d you want to close the door before we begin?
tell me and I’ll drive you home
but then you’d just be all alone
two’s so much more fun than one,
now everyone wins
Turn the page, the book of love it never ends
you know sometimes even lovers start as friends
2 a.m., am I gonna hear my doorbell ring?
are you gonna ask me to repeat myself again?
I don’t want to shut you out
I don’t want to fence you in
so why’d you want to close the door before we begin?
tell me and I’ll drive you home
but then you’d just be all alone
two’s so much more fun than one,
now everyone wins
There’s a candle in the window and it’s burning bright
we’ll keep the fire burning ‘til the morning light
this ain’t no love song baby, no warning alarms
so fall into my arms
‘Cause I don’t want to shut you out
I don’t want to fence you in
so why’d you want to close us down before we begin?
tell me and I’ll drive you home
but there’s some meat left on the bone
two’s so much more fun than one,
now everyone
