Wanted an "old style" sounding song. This was written about those who know what life is about and how it can be hard, but choose to be happy all the same.

This came from the idea of the "split lines" in the chorus, e.g. there is "And you make me" which is complete, but then adds another word for "And you make me smile"

Got wrapped up in layering instruments, and realized I had made something of a "different tune" - so took that idea and made it about a relationship that was unique and how the two were "singing their own tune"

Frustrated and annoyed by some online comments directed at how abused wives "should just leave" I wrote this song about how it is easier said than done. Needs a female singer, but haven't arranged for that to happen yet, so just me singing for now.

Partially autobiographical from a note I was left one time, but then expanded upon on how I might have reacted (didn't, but wouldn't have been surprising to fall into that depth of despair!)

A biographical song, one of two written after I became a naturalized American citizen in 2017.

This started life as a song about giving up, but I decided that was a crappy attitude to promote and reversed it, re-writing everything so that it was about never giving up.

I lived in the country for a bit and kept finding a lot of black widows, so many that one day I said to myself "Black widows like to hide down low" as I was bug-spraying yet another one - and the song was born.
