About This Song

Partially autobiographical from a note I was left one time, but then expanded upon on how I might have reacted (didn't, but wouldn't have been surprising to fall into that depth of despair!)

Made it through the night though I'm laid low
Aching head, lonely breakfast table
Empty spot where you ought to be

Broken bottle shattered heart on the floor
Muttered curse I won't do this no more
It's the lie that I tell even to me

Some blame the demon drink but I know it's that devil called love
That made me lose everything like being struck down from above
And all these sorrows I drown in didn't come out of a bottle
They all started in your deep brown eyes
Your deep brown eyes
Your deep brown eyes

Throw out another page from the calendar
Weight of time that I'm cracking under
I'd cry out for help but there's nothing to save

Lines on my face spell the pain I'm feeling
Words on a page that left me reeling
Epitaph on my heart that I'll take to my grave

Some blame the demon drink but I know it's that devil called love
That made me lose everything like being struck down from above
And all these sorrows I drown in didn't come out of a bottle
They all started in your deep brown eyes
Your deep brown eyes
Your deep brown eyes

SOLO

It all started in your deep brown eyes
Those deep brown eyes
Your deep brown eyes
