I sat down and wanted to write a song with my new mandolin and this is what I came up with. This is a leaving song, about always moving and never being content, and realizing that there may be consequences to that mindset.

This song is a co-write with Stephen Klevas. I saw his original lyrics online, approached him about a co-write, made some adjustments, wrote the music and recorded myself singing/playing guitar.
Thanks to Nathan Meggs for alerting me to the fact that the previous version was not able to be played. [Dropbox related issue, I fear]

This song was written from a challenge by the open mic host at The Ark in Ann Arbor, MI a few years ago. The challenge was to write a song from a musical instrument's perspective. I chose the microphone, and it morphed into a song about an open mic night.

Written in February, 2020 inspired by world events especially the terrible COVID-19 virus which at the time was mainly raging through Wuhan, China and the area. Sadly, the virus has become a pandemic. A song of solidarity and of hope for a better world through cooperation.
I thought about releasing the song on Easter Monday as a charity single.
Guitar tuning in Eb for ease of singing.
PS. I would appreciate it if the song was not shared out anyway other than Songwriting Pro as I wish to release the song in April, 2020. Thank you in advance.

This is a homesick song. It's the story of a guy from the West Cork village of Skibbereen in Ireland who finds himself in New York. He heads for an Irish pub and a young girl sings a song about his hometown. This was a collaboration with my friend Ray Weaver.
