I sat down and wanted to write a song with my new mandolin and this is what I came up with. This is a leaving song, about always moving and never being content, and realizing that there may be consequences to that mindset.
What else the song may need musically (if anything). General opinion of the lyrics and/or theme. What genre would you consider this?

Does the fog in February make you shiver?
Is it every regret I've got rolling up on me?
Will the snow melt, can the promise of the sun deliver?
Or am I gonna stand here and freeze?
Now's the time I'm gonna start off right
Settle in go with that 9 to 5
Slow my feet take it easy for once
I could stop here for a few months
When you find yourself running it's a funny thing
Waiting 'round for what the wind will bring
You can sprint on the inside while sitting still
In your mind you're far off over that hill
Does the fog in February make you shiver?
Is it every regret I've got rolling up on me?
Will the snow melt, can the promise of the sun deliver?
Or am I gonna stand here and freeze?
Lord help the woman who lets me inside
I hope she can manage to capture my pride
Let the fall sun glow on the window pane
And with the first snow I'm gone again
Does the fog in February make you shiver?
Is it every regret I've got rolling up on me?
Will the snow melt, can the promise of the sun deliver?
Or am I gonna stand here and freeze?
Hop o'er the fence prop open the gate
This time around the spring sun can't wait
Peaches in the summer, apples in the fall
Come winter you won't want me in your garden at all
Does the fog in February make you shiver?
Is it every regret I've got rolling up on me? Yeah!
Will the snow melt, can the promise of the sun deliver?
Or am I gonna stand here and freeze?
There's no difference what we want and we convince ourselves we need
I'm not sure the cold ain't coming from me
We live in our choices like we live in our skin
So think carefully about what it means to win
