When trust was broken between love and my heart, I found it impossible to let myself be unguarded. Then she came along and said, “Ok, I’ll hang around and be here for you because I think you’re worth it … even if you don’t”. Lucky me!

It started as a comedy song inspired by "The Chair". Cheesy pick up lines to a waitress at a bar. They would then quote song lyrics. Then it turned into more nostalgia about songs on the radio. Didn't come out as funny. So, I made it "fun" instead.

Inspired by Randy Travis' "Three Wooden Crosses" and a friend of mine named Hope. She was adopted as a child and never knew her dad until she was 25 years old. When they met, it was an unplanned encounter but not as dramatic as the song.

Written 4 years ago. Heard the words "a piece of mine" & "peace of mind" on radio within 15 sec of each other. That was weird. Then, I thought "a piece of my mind" also. Thought I'd try to put all three together. More of a challenge than inspiration.
