I love watching court shows. One night, I was watching one and the idea hit me that sins are inadmissible because we are saved through salvation. I started it and then I took the idea to one of my co-writers and we wrote it.

This song is a lament-an expression from someone who has experienced a personal loss. I have probably attended more funerals this past year than I have in any one year of my life so far. One thing I have found is that people often do not know what to say to someone who is grieving. In reading the Book of Job, we see that Job had some wonderful friends that came and just sat with him in silence for 7 days after the tragic events he experienced. That was the best thing they did. The problem came when they opened their mouths and tried to analyze and judge Job's actions. Pastor Rick Warren says the best thing you can do for someone who is grieving is to "Show up and shut up." (That could be a good title for another song-what do you think?) I have shared this song on Facebook, and it seems to offer a voice to those who are struggling and an answer for how to respond to grief. I think the pandemic has left many people in varying stages of grief through losses of loved ones, losses of jobs and more.

Typically, I do not write Christian songs but this was the first one recorded so it's a milestone for me. Specifically, the song is about feeling trapped and realizing you're not alone. The vocals and sound quality are bad but the guitarist is really awesome.

Child of Mine is a fun Christian Country celebration of God's faithfulness. It was recently cut by Sam L. Smith and is on his recently released album "This Is Me."

This song is pure worship from a heart grateful for Christ, who took our death penalty on the cross.

Classic hymn modernized stylistically and with a new chorus. Tried to be true to the original, but brought in a little of what I learned about the life of the author from 1830 in the chorus. Very personal song.

Simple statement of faith, of being forgiven by Jesus' sacrifice. I once had it said to me, and I believe it largely true, that's impossible to write something without putting some of who you are into it. That said, I don't feel like explaining which of these shortcomings mentioned are my own! Ha! Thats between me and God.
