About This Song

Classic hymn modernized stylistically and with a new chorus. Tried to be true to the original, but brought in a little of what I learned about the life of the author from 1830 in the chorus. Very personal song.

Still learning. Welcome all feedback.

Hi Ken,
Nice take on an old standard but the Chorus puts the song on another level.  In the Chorus, increase the volume of the backing vocals to support the lead.  If released, how do you manage using lyrics from the older song?  Thanks, Uncle Brent

Just as I Am

Written by ken nogan

Verse 1

Just as I am without one plea
But that Your blood was shed for me
And now You bid me come and see
O Lamb of God I come, I come

Verse 2

Just as I am and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark spot
So to You whose blood can cleanse each spot
O Lamb of God I come, I come

Chorus 1

I come to You opened up inside
There is no ill, that I will hide
No offering I can set beside
Your love at Calvary

Verse 3

Just as I am though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt
Fightings within and fears without
O Lamb of God I come, I come

Chorus 2

I come to You opened up inside
There is no ill, that I will hide
No offering I can set beside
Your love at Calvary

Chorus 3

I come to You opened up inside
There is not ill, that I can hide
No offering I can set beside
Your love at Calvary

Verse 4

Just as I am, will You receive
Will welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
With a love that carries me to belief
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Closing Refrain
Just as I am without one plea
