I was a representative from the company I work for to our local/regional Anti-Human Trafficking organization. I heard the stories of several women who had come out of being trafficked, and thought there should be a Christian song to bring awareness to this terrible scourge. I wrote the lyric and John Rowsey wrote the melody.

I always told my wife she could have been a movie star instead of marrying me, and that I'd write a song about that one day. It's not our story, but the tag about the granddaughter and the photo album actually happened.
