I have read and heard many accounts of a strong attachment between a dog and a veteran or a person serving on active military duty. I have developed that attachment with my son's dog, Aspen.

I wrote this with Charley Crockett in mind, kind of an 'old soul' country blues feel. I got the idea from a headline in the Texas Monthly magazine. Very simple lyrics

I wrote this song in the 70's and it has been Published with peer Southern about a guy/girl who wakes up to find his girl gone and then realizes it was only a dream

This is not the type of thing that you would want to hold the world record for, but this guy handles it very well. This is one of those songs that you write just for the hell of it.
