I used some stories of my young adult life for this one. If I was to grade myself on this write I'd probably give myself a C+, it was fun putting this altogether though and that's what its all about.

It's a true story about my Grandpa and his beloved Model A dump truck. When I was in Texas I sat down with Bernie Nelson at a burger joint. I told him this story and we decided it needed to be put to song. So we sat down and wrote this.

This was my first attempt at lyrics, working from a poem I wrote in 1985 just before I left for the Air Force. My family had a farm in Virginia with a small family cemetery in a field and that became the backdrop to this song.

When my daughter experienced her first heartbreak, I needed some way to let her know we felt her pain, but also knew she'd be okay!

I spend a lot of time on the island of Vieques. Over the years I noticed a trend, a similarity with the bartenders, the small beach bars and the way of life. This song is born from those bartenders.

This song is about my sons and our fun together.
