A short demo recorded by my song partner Pete Smith. I have since revised the chorus a bit to fit his melody better.
Sent the title to Brent and he discussed it with Johnny on one of their podcasts.
Not sure about genre, tbh.

Neverland
Walking through the park darkly
After visiting old friends,
Musing ‘bout the what has been
And the show that never ends.
Moody trolls watch me intensely,
I don’t know where I stand.
Creaky sign out in the distance
Points me back to Neverland.
Chorus
Will my dreams and hopes to
Do well vanish in the sand?
And my will just disappear
In a sudden rush of wind?
All I see is a creaky sign
And it points to Neverland.
All I see is a creaky sign
And it points to Neverland.
Owls and hawks they stare me blindly,
Perched on tops of rotting trees;
I’m confused and frightened some,
Lost and lonesome in the breeze.
Can’t change the rules ‘fore you
Go down in the belly of the beast.
Freedom’s just a broken promise
And a lie, to say the least.
Chorus
Will my dreams and hopes to
Do well vanish in the sand?
And my will just disappear
In a sudden rush of wind?
All I see is a creaky sign
And it points to Neverland.
All I see is a creaky sign
And it points to Neverland.
Where’s the light in the lone alley?
Doors and windows tightly closed.
Only road’s too dark to travel,
All my highs are darn low lows.
How far away will I go alone,
Without a light, without a friend?
Creaky sign out in the distance
Points me back to Neverland.
Chorus
Will my dreams and hopes to
Do well vanish in the sand?
And my will just disappear
In a sudden rush of wind?
All I see is a creaky sign
And it points to Neverland.
All I see is a creaky sign
And it points to Neverland.
