Jerry - thanks for the nice comment. Actually, one of the co-writers has been working with a song plugger to pitch it. It has had a lot of “listens”, but no interest so far. But Georgia Middleman, writer and member of Blue Sky Riders, wrote “I’m In” and it languished for 12 years until one day Keith Urban decided to cut it. S0 - you never know.

Thanks, Sarah. I’m not sure who it has been pitched to. One of the co writers is doing the pitching. Actually, he is part of a group of writers who work with Steven(?) Sharp, who is a songplugger. I’ve been to Nashville many times, mainly for Tin Pan South, but have never pitched to publishers.

Very good song, Dick. It’s really commercial like the other comments say. Being a Nashville industry vet, I’d say there’s a little lyric tightening that would be needed to get this song cut by a major artist, but you’re definitely in the ball park. Would be good to see the lyric on this typed out to make any suggestions. Write on!

Dude, Dick I missed this one. Killer songwriting man. Just from a listener’s perspective I think this song brings out your own unique attention / take on the day to day details that are very relatable and accessible to listeners (and which I’m not often brave enough to emphasize in my own songwriting). But it’s a very likable, charmingly accessible song which, I can only assume is a good recipe for success in Nashville. I love the use of alliteration, nice rhythmic language and parallel structure, and obviously like everybody else I love the imagery and would agree it’d make for a very nice looking music video.
**I just realized that there was not a single color mentioned in the lyrics as well, which pays testament your execution because this is an extremely imagistic song…very very impressive Dick** plus that avoids a lot of pitfalls and cliché. I am a firm believer that any song that instills engagement from a listener is an immediate success, which is probably why I like imagery so much. It’s such an easy way to get a listener involved in a song. But here, you have a nice balance / contrast of sort of details (gray scale) verses and colorful choruses. Knowing your style, I feel like this contrast was also deliberate? Anyway I don’t know, I dis this a lot man. Really well done.

Great song! I like the concept and the lyrics are really descriptive. I don’t know what I’d change exactly, but maybe the phrasing in the verse melody could be tightened up… or maybe it’s just right how it is?

If I had one bit of constructive criticism, it would be that the groove in the verse led me to believe the chorus would rock a little bit and it was laid back instead. That’s really a demo issue though and no reflection on your writing. Love the lyric.
