This started out as "Moderately Confused" with the hook ideas coming from the cartoon in the newspaper. But at critique, I was convinced that the current title was a more relateable hook. Does it work for you?
Any feedback welcome
Great Harmonies, love the Simon and Garfunkel feel. I like the drums too, but I think that they need to disappear sometimes. Like during “Am I the only one confused.” Other than that, I like the song content, very relatable to any generation!

Am I the Only One Confused
Missed it - your birthday
You said - that’s okay
Believed you - should know better
My naiveté
Now I’m standing here all alone
Since you walked away
(chorus)
I don’t understand
Social subtlety
Sarcasm tends to fly
Right by me
You tell me this but you mean that
I’m such a literal cat
I’m not picking up on your non verbal cues
Am I the only one confused
Genius - my bosses quip
Sent me on an ego trip
I musta missed the irony
‘Til I got the pink slip
Now I need a resume
This took a nasty twist
(repeat chorus)
(bridge)
I wish someone gave lessons
On social cues and reading facial expressions
(repeat chorus)

Very pleasing melody, and I really like you don’t rely on cliche lyrics. Personally a song like this, in my opinion would be better with no drum track or a very sparse one… the feel is so engaging.
