It had been snowing this winter, and my co-writer and I were talking about how it can be so nice to be snowed in. And how you wish you could take that cozy snow day feeling with you on other cold, nasty days when you have to get on with the grind.

One of my co-writers, Sierra, was talking about being frustrated w/ guys whose idea of romance is sitting at a bar, when she said, "Don't buy me a drink; ask me to dance!" So I started playing a mid-tempo waltz and we worked up the melody and lyrics.

Co-written w/Russell Sutton. A good ol' Texas dance hall two-stepping song with instructions on how to two-step that also work within the larger story. In the chorus, listen for "One," "Two," "Right" and "Left" for a mini-dance lesson.

This song was one of those rare writes where we didn't know where it was going when we started, but I started playing a groove, and "Old man's Cadillac" set the tone. I usually like a stronger hook, but this ended up with a great feel, so we kept it.
