This week I worked with three of Nashville's most talented players to track this new demo in the hope of pitching it to current artists such as Jon Pardi, Blake Shelton and possibly even the G-Man! Thank you Brent Rader, Jenee Fleenor and Mike Johnson for another great one!

The session for tracking this demo was fun. It has been awhile since I've used Joe Spivey on fiddle and Mike Johnson on steel. You don't find any better than those two! I had forgotten how much fun it is, and how much I love traditional country. This song was written in the hopes of pitching to artists such as Midland, Joe Nichols, Blake Shelton, etc.

Mid tempo song written in the styling of Merle Haggard, but with a retro Chris Stapleton feel. The picture is of my brother and I with our mother on the farm in Louisiana. Great memories!

My wife took this picture of me with Tim Buppert, the singer and producer of the song, as we found him performing last year in Port Saint Joe, FL.

My cousin asked me to write a song for a friend of hers, who had just lost her daughter suddenly in a car accident. So, I tried to imagine the horror of the sudden loss of my wife, Julie, and came up with this song. I feel Tim Buppert did an outstanding job, both in terms of producing this song, as well as performing the vocals. I'm not sure this song is appropriate for a mother/daughter loss, but again, I like what Tim did with it.
