About This Song

The session for tracking this demo was fun. It has been awhile since I've used Joe Spivey on fiddle and Mike Johnson on steel. You don't find any better than those two! I had forgotten how much fun it is, and how much I love traditional country. This song was written in the hopes of pitching to artists such as Midland, Joe Nichols, Blake Shelton, etc.

I understand it’s not about me, but rather we need to write for the listener (who seems to have have a more “rap/pop” taste).  I understand that songwriting is a business; that we need to write the type of music that sells to the masses.  BUT, as a songwriter, I’m moved to create music that I FEEL, like this more “TRADITIONAL-STYLE” song of yours, Marvin!  I really like this song a lot!

I agree with what you say Jack, and if we want cuts it makes sense to write what is currently on the radio. However, sometimes we have to write what we love, and hopefully write it in a way that it is still looked favorably on by the music Gods. Thanks for listening!

I love it, and you’ve written and produced another great song! Very creative arrangement! More comments on the FB group SW Pro I think it was.

Marvin, your song put a smile on my face. I do like traditional country, especially in your updated style. Joseph is right that it’s a George strait song. Not sure if he’s still making records. But there are others doing this style song. And the genre needs to keep this kind of country in style. A good song and a good rendition of it too. A great package.

Thanks so much Joseph, Reid and Myrna! I believe George Strait does continue to record, but just not as often. Most of his releases are written by him and his son. Of course as long as King George is still recording I will keep pitching to him. Thanks again!

Remember guys besides artist placements there’s also movie, tv and ad opportunities, everyone’s not going to love everything. My belief is as long as it’s from heart.. Another great tune Marvin good luck with it!

Two More Waiter

Written by Marvin Adcock

There's too much world to rearrange, and my best bet's to make it go away
Too many things I can't change and so little I can explain
I'm tryin' to disconnect my intellect, I need more whiskey instead of less
So give me two more waiter, I’ll forget her in half the time

Give me two more waiter
There's a lot more on my mind
Too much left to think about
It's only 'round twelve-fifty-nine
So set me up again my friend
Before it's closin' time
And give me two more waiter
There's a lot more on my mind

I guess I'm not as over her as I'd like to be
I can't quite lick it, or reach my limit, I'm an emotional casualty
I can't seem to loose these lovesick blues, so open up another bottle of truth
And give me two more waiter, I’ll forget her in half the time

Give me two more waiter
There's a lot more on my mind
Too much left to think about
It's only 'round twelve-fifty-nine
So set me up again my friend
Before it's closin' time
And give me two more waiter
There's a lot more on my mind

Well it seems I gotta lotta thoughts left to be thunk
They keep runnin' through my head all at once
I'm a long way from feelin' I've had enough
So it's thumb down on life and bottoms up

And give me two more waiter
There's a lot more on my mind
Too much left to think about
It's only 'round twelve-fifty-nine
So set me up again my friend
Before it's closin' time
And give me two more waiter
There's a lot more on my mind

Yes there is
Give me two more waiter
There's a lot more on my mind
Give me two more waiter
There's a lot more on my mind
