A branch off the original male version…from a female point of view, that’s different though. There’s always men who come onto women based on looks only and have no clue about what she already knows- she’d be too much for him.

The original tinder box idea came about from a Wordplay Thursday word “difference.” A song about how there’s always women who want a “bad boy”, but would never be able to handle one or be happy with one. It’s written from his point of view. Yet, could easily be a simple incompatibility song.

Dust Storm Warning came out of a title challenge I gave myself to push beyond my usual Americana lane. The title immediately made me wonder: what if the thing that changes your life doesn't come with any warning at all? What started as a challenge turned into a desert-country love song about getting blindsided by the right person.
Genre Note: Written as contemporary country with Southwestern/desert imagery.

“One of Those Days”(Duhon, Luquette, Joy)
© 2026
Verse 1
Woke up the baby crying, beat my alarm to the punch
Pleading God for five more minutes, but then I know I’ll have to rush
Spilled Coffee on my white tee shirt, sticky fingerprints on my phone
Sun hasn’t even shown it’s face and I already know
It’s gonna be one of those days.
Chorus
Cne of those days…
Running around crazy,
Nothin’ going right
Cant’ catch a break day
One of those day
Barely getting by
Lost all control
Trying to stay alive
I keep telling myself
It’s gonna get better
One of These Days
Verse 2
Searching for shoes and backpacks, trying to get out the door
The toddler has lipstick on her face, eatin’ cereal off the floor
Wrestled the kids into their car seats, we’re finally on the road
Fighting traffic all the way, oh I already know
It’s gonna be one of those days.
Chorus
Bridge:
Baby’s asleep,Toddler snuggled on my chest,
That sleepy little smile tells me I’m so blessed
I hear a little whisper – “Amen”
It makes me bow my head and pray to God I get to wake up and it all again
Chorus
