Another one of those demos I recorded in Europe under lockdown. One take (actually it's the 2nd take), with all my vocal and playing limitations on display. Hopefully, my songs are as basic as they get so they don't need much to get through.
A great photo by #Jesse Bowser.

The Road
I’m walking down a road,
I’m thinking all the time,
What’s coming to the ‘fore,
And what I left behind.
I’m told I’ll reach a fork,
And there I will choose:
Get on the high and prosper,
Or take the low - and lose.
I have not reached a fork,
No fork that I can see;
I’m walking down a road,
Lined with bare trees.
Chorus:
Want a road to follow, want your time to freeze.
Always joy and sorrow, sometime gentle breeze;
Never reach the end, never get stuck deep,
This road goes forever, this road never sleeps.
The road is fairly open,
Go which way you please,
Signs are large and clear,
Follow them with ease.
The road don’t care if you walk or ride,
Don’t care where you go,
Don’t care if you’re rushing,
Or if you choose to slow.
The road will get you anywhere,
You pick it now at will,
Gone down the road a lot,
With plenty time to kill.
Chorus:
Want a road to follow, want your time to freeze.
Always pain and sorrow, sometime gentle breeze;
Never reach the end, never get stuck deep,
This road goes forever, this road never sleeps.
The road I always follow,
And always get to roam.
Don’t care where it takes me -
I’ll travel till I’m gone.
