Hi Mike,
This is my first time at trying to offer some feedback on someone else’s song. If I’m too harsh, I’m sorry. If I’m too easy, I’m sorry too. Just let me know, or take pleasure in returning the favor. Lol. Here goes………..A universal theme, in my opinion. I think we can all relate to that one hot teacher back in school. Lol. The story flows smooth and is easy to follow. I like some of the imagery, like fighting for the front row, and writing on the blackboard, etc. I can picture those well. Some good, catchy words, like parlay vous francais, ooh la la, hyperventilate, blackboard, etc. Also, a couple of lines that could maybe be a little stronger (in my humble opinion). Such as “ain’t no jive” (maybe a forced rhyme?). A couple of lines, such as “always leads the blind” and “hopes we would thrive” that I wasn’t sure exactly what those meant. It’s a good song, and good idea that we all relate to. I’ll bet, if you keep going back and reading over it every couple of days, working at some lines you might not be totally satisfied with, and thinking about that Classroom 105, you might come up with some things to add that you like even better! Good job, Mike!

Hi Rick
Thanks for listening to this song and your review of it. I was a teenager in the 70’s and Thrive and Jive were big up here in MN lol! Jive was basically slang for (aint no lie) Like quit jiving me man lol and thrive was succeeding at something so that’s kind of why I used them. I may try and look at this again to see if I could better the lines so thanks again for your input and take care.

So, those words are sort of a salute and reference to the 70s’. I like that explanation! And, you know, I like that word because it is something different and unique from the norm, and it catches your attention. Kind of like how I’ve heard Brent reference using the word “spork” in a song. Some people loved it, some hated it. Everybody is different, and has a different opinion. That’s a neat thing about music, but exactly what made me uncomfortable giving you MY feedback on one of YOUR babies! Lol. Good job, and thanks again for sharing your music.

Classroom 105
8:03 each morn
We piled into class
We all fought for front row seats
Just to watch her pass
She would stroll right by us
And we would come alive
To this day we still remember
Classroom 105
First period
French class
Parley vous Francais
She was oooo la la
That’s all we could say
Never paid attention
We were all mesmerized
Now looking back we loved those years
In Classroom 105
Chorus:
There’s always that one teacher
That always leads the blind
Miss Hanson was the one
That really blew our minds
Pretty as a picture
Yet tougher than a nail
We never had a chance back then
It’s a wonder we didn’t fail
We always tried to stay on track
In hopes that we would thrive
To this day we all still dream
About Classroom 105
I remember that old blackboard
How she stretched to write on slate
She wore those tight mini skirts
We’d hyper-ventilate
We always paid attention
And that ain’t no jive
We all loved our teacher
In Classroom 105
Chorus:
There’s always that one teacher
That always leads the blind
Miss Hanson was the one
That really blew our minds
Pretty as a picture
Yet tougher than a nail
We never had a chance back then
It’s a wonder we didn’t fail
We always tried to stay on track
In hopes that we would thrive
To this day we all still dream
About Classroom 105
Fast forward 30 years
She was invited by our class
The men took the front row seats
Just to watch her pass
The stroll that she once had
Wasn’t quite the same
But Miss Hanson was still beautiful
She still had the game
And the men still oooo la laed
When she had arrived
And we will never ever, ever forget
Our hot teacher
In Classroom 105
No we will never ever, ever forget
Our hot teacher
In Classroom 105

Thanks for sharing your work with us, Mike! The title immediately made me curious. I didn’t know where the song would go with it. I like that it has some tempo/groove and is a fun, positive song. Some good images, too. Good clarity- I knew exactly what was going on and never got lost. So a lot of good work here. Keep writing!
