Written in recognition of the Songwriting For Nature program www.songs4nature.ca and their influence on me as a songwriter. They welcome writers of the world to bask in the wonder of the Canadian prairies of Saskatchewan. Next camp is 12-SEP-2019
Any feedback is welcome. Thanks for listening! [p.s. the S4N camp is awesome! You should come... https://www.songs4nature.ca/new-2019-adult-songwriting-retreat [Page currently needs updating but click the link and it'll take you to the right info!]]
Thanks Sheila, this camp has given me a new lease on life… It has allowed me a way to express myself that I’d shelved, for one reason or another, but no more! I have about 27 songs written right now and another 300+ titles fragments and partially finished works, so I hope to be recording more regularly. There will be a new one on Frettie sometime next week, so keep your ear to the ground, it’s a rocker!

I like the poetry in this song ... “...a lullaby we know in our bones…” and “...roasting o’er the fire in our eyes and our souls…”
The melody and subject definitely fall in the Folk genre. My favorite lines in the chorus are the last two, because they bring emotion to it. Your vocals are perfect for this kind of song. Nicely done.

Verse
We gathered our wits and drove for two hours to get to this space
A place out of town and yet, it’s somewhere we know
Verse
We stifled our fear and set up our town, nestled in trees,
The coyotes sang a lullaby that we knew in our bones
Chorus
Out here there ain’t no Wi-Fi
Out here there ain’t no phone
Out here is where it all began
Out here is just like coming home
Verse
Our lives, so intertwined, connected by roots of songs and of flames
And marshmallows roasting o’er the fire in our eyes and our souls
Solo (Verse)
Chorus
Out here there ain’t no Wi-Fi
Out here there ain’t no phone
Out here is where it all began
Out here is just like coming home
Bridge
We can’t tell what tomorrow will bring
We can only be sure of one thing...
Final Chorus
Out here there ain’t no Wi-Fi
Out here there ain’t no phone
Out here is where it all began
Out here is just like coming...
Out here there ain’t no Wi-Fi
Out here there ain’t no phone
Out here is where it all began
Out here is just like coming home

Great Song. Nothing better than sitting out under the stars playing music. I played bluegrass music for many years out under the stars.
