The idea behind this song is that we are all stuck in our own generation and we will always find it difficult to understand or relate to those a few years above or below us in age.
Some lines I would like to change... this is just an acoustic live copy I did today however I would like to turn this into a full band song. Any ideas/suggestions for instrumentation? (aside from a guitar/bass/drums trio)
Thanks! I need to find a sax player then! The video can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQms2x0YXsI

Yea I to hear sax and possibly a little harp as well just to offset the verses. Great topic. Love the guitar, and vocal. Well done!!!

Great energy to this song and fantastic guitar playing. Keys would also be a great addition. Nice vocal tone!

I’ve loved this since I first heard it because it is a really hot, engaging song. But this is the first time I’ve seen the lyrics. Eric - this is really thought provoking and profound. The bridge is a little long, but I wouldn’t suggest changing it because the thought expressed is so interesting.
Cool. cool song!

We like to make fun of the generations preceeding us
and we don't think much of the generations succeeding us
we're on a cycle that is viral
everybody in the spiral
thinks they're the only ones who know
but when we break it down it's clear that
in a handful more of years
we'll go by a different flow
we're on a pendulum
going back and forth a pendulum
we don't care about the past
or the future if it lasts
'cause our present is on a pendulum
in hindsight, i probably made a lot of mistakes
in my early life, but isnt that what made who i am today?
if you had the chance to change
your last ten years or stay the same
would you go back and fix that mess?
you'd have yourself as an advisor
now you're older therefore wiser
and you probably think that you know best
call me an old soul
but i really don't like to do what
all of my friends do
no i've always wanted to slow down
stop and smell the roses
and look around and what i found
is that people will like what they're told to like
and you can't jump ahead in time

Eric, Great guitar playing and interesting topic to write about as most everyone can relate to the different generations. As for as instruments, I feel like a sax would be really cool just working it’s way into this in some type of solo. I don’t know just a thought. Great job. Can’t wait to check out the video you posted on twitter for it.
