About This Song

This song is pretty different from my regular style (it is more folk). I understand the song is repetitive and not particularly exciting, but it's not meant to be. It's just something to listen to when working on other things or even going to bed!

Feedback Requested

As I said, I understand the song is not exactly an attention grabber. Just let me know if it makes you feel good or not! Haha that's all I'm really going for. :D Thanks for listening!

Eric, I really like this. It does what you want it to do. It makes me feel good and It is a really nice song to just listen to while working on some things. I have a number of songs that I like to listen to while I design. I do that simply because I like to just listen to something in the background, but at the same time I don’t want a huge distraction. I would say that this is a nice song for that.

It has a very familiar sound to it also, which I like.

As far as feedback goes, the only thing that feels a bit awkward to me would be the bridge (I think it was the bridge) It falls right after the first solo? It just felt a tad out of sync with the rest of the flow. Other than that I felt like it really flowed nice for me. Like you said, I think with some tweaking this could be really more than just a song to play in the background. It has a number of nice things going for it. I actually really like the background vocals and guitar too.

Thanks for sharing!

I’ve heard most of your songs and this is a really interesting departure from your normal style. I really love the haunting feel of it. I know that “connoisseur of sorts” is a neat line, but I think the real theme of your song (which is usually what your title should express) is “you don’t know me at all”. Minor point, but might be important when this is a big hit on the radio.

Cool song.

Dude this was the song that told me I wanted to record with you, really an excellent tune. I think that this style really fits your skillset nicely, it works well for your voice, the activity on guitar is really interesting but there’s just a lot of time to sit and absorb and either dig into the lyrics or just the vibe. I think Dick made a really interesting point in that the title and agree with it but I’m a firm believer in preserving “artist’s choice” so do yo thang.

The first thirty seconds of the song is enough to make the listener stick it out with you, the harmonica just kicks you right in, great guitar part, great lyrics followed by cool harmonies you really nailed this one man. I know it’s a new sound for you but I’d probably hug you, on stage, if you played this at the CSA Finale
