I've always enjoyed writing ballads. "Goodbye" travels from quiet reflection and embarks on a slow build to an emotional climax that will hopefully tug on the hearts of listeners.

Sometimes it's not in your hands to fix a problem, and all you can do is write a naively optimistic song about it.
