The debut track from Brave Weather, Dani and I co-wrote this song with the band. The time signature was designed to feel more like you are on a boat, cymbals represent waves crashing, etc.
Did the song convey the sailor mood well? Both lyrically and musically?
Hi Eric, I think that you’ve conveyed the mood well in all aspects. Great writing! Good luck with this song:)

Tides in the wind, flowing over me
Like a grain of sand, I float through the sea
Tides in the waves, cover me so deep
In the ocean’s womb, I try to sleep
Nothing between the water
no sense of time
Traveling through this current stream
unraveling this ethereal dream
Feel the water taking me down
Sailors don’t sleep, when water is taking us down
Flying the sails, sifting through the sea
Nearing the depths, storms are rising
Nothing between the water
no sense of time
Traveling through this current stream
unraveling this ethereal dream
Feel the water taking me down
Sailors don’t sleep, when water is taking us down
Tugging from the undertow
Riptide now becomes our flow
Watching how the water grows
And realizing now I know
The ocean has become my home
Nothing between the water
no sense of time
Traveling through this current stream
unraveling this ethereal dream
Feel the water taking me down
Sailors don’t sleep, when waters take us down

Great song Eric! Yes, the music and lyrics conveyed the sailor and “ocean journey” mood well. I really like the pulsating feeling of the music that kept driving me through the song. I could see this being played to the soundtrack of a movie like “300” or its sequel where men are busily rowing the ship into battle. Anyways, good job and good luck with the song.
