Took the expression "Does what it says on the tin" and reversed it, thinking about how addictions of all sorts promise something but never deliver. Recorded in rougher form.

It doesn't do what it says on the tin
That's just a line meant to lure you in
And once you start it won't take long to get its hooks in your skin
It doesn't do what it says on the tin
And your background doesn't matter
Rich man, poor man, business man, thief
I'm sure you think that you know better
Like the thousands before who had the same belief
It doesn't do what it says on the tin
That's just a line meant to draw you in
And then you'll see that the smallest print was the most dangerous thing
It doesn't do what it says on the tin
You can buy it on street corners
Or order your posion from across a bar
Get it on repeat from your doctor
Track down a bookie, they're never too far
Solo Chorus
Bridge
They call it a fix, it only leaves you broken
You won't find release in whatever you're tokin'
It's all pie in the sky
Chasing that high
It doesn't do what it says on the tin
That's just a line meant to reel you in
Too late you'll find the only way to stop was to never begin
It doesn't do what it says on the tin
