About This Song

This a folk song about a wrecking crew of a woman. Basic progression with a little bit of grit. Key of F which I'm finding to be comfortable place for me.

Feedback Requested

This is my first attempt at finishing a "folk" song. Does the story progress well? I wanted to use a three act structure, but don't know if it builds well enough. Do you think there is room for an instrumental section?

Hey Nick,

Good job with the folksiness! I’d say than it’s still a little more descriptive than narrative, but it suits the song really well. I wouldn’t worry too much about adhering to the 3-act concept. You’re more describing her quirks than their relationship, and the lyrics really get the point across!

It seems that after the third chorus (or title refrain, I guess) you’ve got a good opportunity for an instrumental, but the song may be a little long at this point to include that. Perhaps you could combine parts of the second and third verses and shorten a bit? The second half of the first verse is particularly good. The first portion seems a little rushed with all of the lyrics. LOVE the line “You’ll keep her as long as she’ll stay,” as well as the title line. Gorgeous. You did a great job with all the lyrics of really evoking imagery.
