Jazz infused R&B. Warm & tender ... maybe my best set of lyrics.

I was listening to the Beach Boys' "Don't Worry Baby", channeled my inner Brian Wilson, and came up with this tune.

I wanted to create the vibe of a small, dimly lit night spot: Heels click on cobblestones before entering a blue, smoke filled room ... it's 3am. There's the low hum of whispery small talk as glasses clink ... lovers lean over candle-lit tables ... a jazz combo enters an empty space as James Bond sips alone at the bar. A beauty steps to the mike and sings ... he wonders ...

I had a dream I was seated center, in the middle row, of an otherwise empty school auditorium, and the Beatles were on stage performing the chorus of this song. Incredible right? I went around the next day singing the thing to everyone, thinking someone must have heard it, but ... no one had. So I knocked off the verses and bridge, and ... presto ...

I wanted to do another 60's girl group thing. There's a nice time signature change in the bridge.

After enjoying Roy Orbison's "Black and White Night" concert on TV, I imagined what it would be like to write a song that might fit within that set list. The next day this song emerged, and emerged rather easily truth be told. I couldn't find a male singer up to grade but changing the lyric to female perspective was easy, and my "go to girl" did a great job with the vocal.

This is a fun rockin' country/pop tune with lyrics around how daddy's little girl can get what she wants!

I wanted to write and record a song that one the '60s girl groups might have recorded, or thinking more recently, what someone like an Adele or an Amy Winehouse might enjoy singing.

This is a throwback vocal jazz tune a la Peggy Lee, Ella, Dinah Washington, etc. The song evolved from a nice chord progression, which easily suggested the vibe and the sweet melody and lyric.
