I was biking with my dad and saw a bottle by the side of the road - I remarked that it was half full, and my dad said that it was just "cheap canadian whiskey" The phrase stuck with me and I wrote a song around it about a friend that was doing some crazy stuff.

A friend of mine was making some pretty bad choices - this is a song about watching it happen and knowing that the ending was inevitable.

This song came about when Roger Beckett who is a country writer came over for a visit. I am more indie pop but, I had this ballad written on keys. Roger suggested the major lift for the chorus and we changed up the melody and an hour or two later we had Fade Away. I recorded the song down in Nashville at Steve Peffer's home studio. Its a song about something that happens to so many relationships when they inevitably fade away - even though the song lyric is sad- I tried to keep the vocal kind of accepting. Fade Away is not always a bad thing.

In my 14 yr old brain - this is a political song - ha ha. I had fun writing this song. It not really produced at all - just played around on Logic Pro a bit after I did it on keys.

Tyler Simmons and I sat down with Murray Daigle and Tyler and I came up with the idea for this conversational narrative song. Its really about a boy who just cant see the light and let go of his girl - despite the writing being on the wall

I wrote this track in a different setting for me. I sat down for about 4 hours with Bobby John and Murray Daigle in Toronto ON, and started it from scratch. As a young writer they asked me what I wanted to write about and this is the result.

I wanted to explore 5th and 7th chords so this is what I came up with. In this case I wrote the music first and then came with the lyrics.
