I wrote this song with Rosanne Baker-Thornley and North Easton. We sat in a room with a nice piano and guitar and banged it out.
Is this kind of song poppy enough to ever play on the radio. Do you enjoy the melody and the production. What about the songs message.
OK, I like the “semi-minimalist” feel—piano is a little “bangy” in spots—GREAT vocals (intonation, vocal timbre, strength)—you might try pitching your songs to Sarah Bareilles

ANYWAY
written by North Easton, Rosanne Baker-Thornley and Mikalyn Hay
VERSE
Give me a second of silence
A moment to take in the hurt
Leave me alone with you sticks and the stones
Nothing can hit you like somebody words
Nothing can hit you like words
CHORUS
Everything you say
Don’t want hear it / You know that I hear it
Everything you say
Don’t really feel it
Don’t want to waste another day
Another second anyway
VERSE
Tell me where you got the dagger
The one that you left in my back
It’s not the truth, does that really matter (but does that really matter)
All of the damage that you can’t erase
When you can’t see the look on my face
BRIDGE
Cause you won’t back down
when i call you out
But I won’t back down
Anyway
CHORUS
Everything you say
Don’t want hear it / You know that I hear it
Everything you say
Don’t really feel it
Don’t want to waste another day
Another second anyway
Cause you won’t back down
when I call you out
I won’t back down
Anyway

As I was listening to this I thought about someone being bullied now I feel its about someone being slandered like maybe the person is going around spreading untruths about the person singing the song. Maybe the person was supposed to be a friend but turned out to be something else.
I think it sounds really good! The vocals are nice.
It sounds poppy to me and I can visualize people singing along with it.
I think folks should hear more songs like this to realize how their actions affect others.
