This song is a straight up, country drinking and breakup song. I wrote it trying to put a twist on the fact to whiskey (or alcohol in general) won't put out a fire... even one in your heart. I also threw in a nod to George Strait and his song "The Fireman" since he talks about putting out old flames.

This song is based on the story of one of my favorite movies. I'll give you some hints about the movie to see if anyone knows this movie and can guess it from the song. Hints: movie was released in the 1950's. Starred three huge stars from the time... Rock Hudson, Elizabeth Taylor and James Dean. Not cheating Googleing it.

I wrote this song from something I say sarcastically all the time... Well, that made all the difference. I usually say it when something goes a bit off or wrong. But if you listen to the whole song, you find out that I (as most people do) realize that if those things that went a bit off, actually did make all the difference and put you right where you are today, and hopefully that is a good thing.
