A friend's adult son, with a diagnosed mental disorder, went into a hospital with his Bible and guitar. He said he would wait there for his miracle. He got his miracle and left the hospital, after a few weeks of therapy, medication, playing worship music and reading his Bible! The story in its entireity was so inspiring, I decided to write a song about it from the "patient's perspective."

The idea came from an old "ism" that came out of the upholstry industry. "get down to the brass tacks." That "ism" is in the choruses. The story is about a chair has been handed down through generations, and the newest recipient decides to reupholster it. But, she can't bear to part with the old cloth and the stories behind each pen mark, stain, fray, etc. So she frames the old fabric and hangs it behind the updated chair.
