I got the idea for this song when I took a selfie of my wife and I one morning before heading off to work in a snowstorm. I started thinking, suppose we took a selfie every morning. Wouldn't that be a lot of pictures of us on my phone? Many thanks to Brent and songwriting pro members for critiquing the song and making suggestions to improve it. I hope this version is a keeper.

This song was left vague intentionally. i want the listener to be able to relate to how THEY need to. Could be parent, grandparent, sibling, child, spouse, friend, etc. We have all felt it. Work tape. Always my original lyrics. Thanks

I grew up singing but wasn't able to get to my full potential vocally. One day as I was thinking about this and how I wanted to sing to God better, this song came in words and music. I was wondering what the angels sing like, and wishing I could bring that sound to earth for God.

We have always lived in rural areas, as a result we never had trash pickup service.
So every Saturday morning, as my song says, “I headed to the local junk yard,
I had some rusty things to discard “.
But before I left the house, my wife would always ask me, “ if you find any good, bring it home” and honestly, folks did quite often leave something of value that we could use and so, I did bring some things home.
But one Saturday morning, while at the junkyard, I got to thinkin, what if while I’m here some fella drives in and while there, he gets into an argument with his girlfriend, then he just leaves her there standing all alone. When I noticed the girl standing there I thought,
Well, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure “
And that is where the idea for my song came from.

This is a pop track I wrote several years ago. I used A.I. to create an Electronic Dance Version. Since most of the songs here are country or ballads, I thought I'd upload something a little different. I hope y'all enjoy it! Let me know!

I was teaching on how to write songs using a method called ghosting. One student liked the country song Buy Dirt
I encourged him to give it a try. I liked the song toi Buy Dirt . They never did but I did. I was thinking what coulf I repeat in stead of Buy Dirt. I thought Trust God.
