About This Song

This song was written for my mom. She was an effortless beauty and a simple country girl. She wore "money blonde hair" and Dad always called me "baby doll". A song to remind you that you're always enough.

I like the idea of this. That door line is great! It would help if the lyrics were posted. Also, have you tried this at a slightly faster tempo? It might be better.

No, I haven’t, but I can run that through to see what I can come up with. I will update and post lyrics, thank you!

I actually like the speed of this, its very danceable. Its got great vibes! Lyrically there is a few parts that are cliche. “neon lights” has been over used in country songs. I would suggest trying to come up with something fresh and new. But over all it was a great listen, good job!

I agree with Michael on it being danceable. And being for your mom, it’s classic country;  So that works with the tempo it is. I asked because I’m curious if it would sound better or not.
Of course, anytime someone suggests or points out something (on here on anyone’s songs), it may be good to look at it, play with it…BUT, that doesn’t mean you should change it. Stay true to you. It’s just that sometimes others see what we can’t when we are so into building our songs.

Yes, I grew up on those “Country Gold Saturday Nights” vibes (lol). Though, I love all genres of music. I write very dark sometimes also, which comes out as rock or alternative. I appreciate all feedback. Thank you for taking your time to respond! I am also a closet writer by night and a healthcare worker by day, so I have a lot to learn! I write with my “feelings” first, which can be a blessing and a curse I suppose.

Mmm, when you looked at me, you were lookin for something,
Something I couldn't be,
A doll with money blonde hair, atmosphere, blazing lights, oh, crystal nights

But I'm just me, with dusty hair, worn out jeans, wildflowers, country miles
I'm just me, oh, I'm just her, a girl without pearls, mmm, mmm

You tried to find a diamond with your hands, Holding tight, in the mid-night neon lights, mmmm, In the mornin' I was never who you woke wanting to see

But I'm just me, with dusty hair, worn out jeans, wildflowers,
country miles, i'm just me, oh, I'm just her, a girl, without pearls, mmm, mmm

I said goodbye, oh, you didn't try, you closed a wooden door, to open the glass one once more, oh, oh, you're just you, mmm, mmm

Now I'm here, Here with him, who loves just me, mmm, mmm,
with dusty hair, worn out jeans, wildflowers, country miles I'm just me, oh, I'm just her, a girl, without pearls

I love her too, oh, that country girl, without flashing lights, or neon brights, hmmm, hmm, hmm
