Just North of Mexico is a neo-traditional country love story about a ten-minute coffee stop off I-19 that turned into a lifetime together. A chance meeting near Tucson proves that sometimes forever starts when you're not looking for it.

Just North of Mexico
Written By: Christopher Mason / Misty Mae Mason
I pulled off I-19 for coffee and gas
Killin' ten minutes, then back on my path
She was leaning on a counter, translating for her dad
Smiling at my Spanish like it wasn't quite that bad
I asked where she learned English
She said, "Right here where you're at."
Just north of Mexico
A ten-minute stop turned thirty years ago
Came in for coffee
Left wondering where you'd been
Every mile marker south of Tucson
Feels like where my life begins
When asked where I met you
I tell 'em - Just north of Mexico
First date was at a dancehall in Tubac
Stepped on her boots twice
She still kept coming back
By summer I knew her family
By fall she knew mine
There ain't a line on any map
That could've kept us apart
Just north of Mexico
A ten-minute stop turned thirty years ago
Came in for coffee
Left wondering where you'd been
Every mile marker south of Tucson
Feels like where my life begins
When asked where I met you
I tell 'em - Just north of Mexico
Best ten minute stop - I ever made...
