Yep, sorry. I realize I'm breaking all the "current radio target rules" here by putting up a mega slow, ballad. I just wanted to get some sort of feedback going on it if possible. Like the other songs I've just put on here, this one too is part of a small group of songs I grouped together and called the '71 El Trepeaux Way' songs (with the exception of Country Boy Pep Rally). They'll all have a bit of a soulful, multi-harmony, 70's lounge country sound for the most part. Picture listening to them in one of those huge Cutlass or Monte Carlos from the 70's for me! Of course, more acoustic versions of these are what I try to submit to industry professionals. But, when I get to actually play these live for small groups, this is more how they're played typically. Thanks for feelin' the vibe!
Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.
The melody and lyrics to me didn’t seem to match. It’s a sexy tune, and I think it could be a hit but when I heard the lyrics it turned me off. It seemed to be about her anger. I would change the first verse about the weatherman and make it more like “A quiet spark of pull‑me‑close right now in ya mind.
Yeah that’s what your heartbeat said to mine.” that kind of sexy vibe.
Maybe lean in more into how the spark was her biting her lip. Just my .02

Awh nah your wall cloud’s settin’ in.
Rain’s comin’ on in your steely overcast eyes.
A turbulent storm of get-it-done right now in ya mind.
Yeah that’s what your weatherman said.
It makes me duck for cover ‘n laugh so loud
For you though I’ll keep that hid ‘n open umbrella out.
‘Cause,…..
Baby when you bite your lip.
I can’t help myself. I gotta’ hold,
that storm in you that brews your soul
Baby when you bite your lip.
I wanna shelter you from bad weather.
Your lil’ whirlwinds make me a better man.
But if you can, don’t forget
If ya tempest blows-up I don’t even feel a drip.
Just grin for me and bite your lip.
Sunny forecast calls for you to try again.
So ya messed-up, clouds covered-up,
a picture perfect now what the heck’s up?
And now, ya blue sky’s twist black ‘n red.
Makes me sad to see ya mad like a sailor’s cuss.
But when you’re mad at you girl I’ve had enough!

Never apologize for writing what comes out. I write, I get songs reviewed, and when they don’t hit the “radio” or “cut” line I just throw them out to streaming and my small group of followers listen nearly daily.
Great feel man!
