About This Song

I was just having some fun and tried to make a song out of every new term people are using for single life since it is such a trend currently. I imagine a group of women in a bar, having a great time, all singing along to this at the top of their lungs.

I don't like the line, dim my flair. It just doesn't quite hit like I want it to. Also the wine glass held high seems clunky for some reason. It could use some work for sure...

Amazing song Christine.  I loved how you incorporated all the terms into such incredible rhymes in the chorus.  I really enjoyed it. Really rocked.  Great one!

Independent Era

Written by CHRISTINE JOY

Title: “Independent Era”

(Verse 1)
Woke up, brushed off the doubt,
Coffee, sunshine, whole new route.
My phone’s dry and I kinda like that,
Peace and quiet, where the party at?

Got my nails done, playlist loud,
Main character walkin’ through the crowd.
No plus-one, but I shine alone,
Soft life queen on her glitter throne.

(Pre-Chorus)
Mirror says, Girl, you made it
Every red flag? I evaded.
Feelin’ fierce, unapologetic,
My single life’s magnetic

(Chorus)
I’m in my independent era,
Hot girl glow, no mascara.
CEO of me, I’m the terror
of anyone tryin' to dim my flair
Me season, glow-up fever,
Self-partnered, I’m my own believer.
Turn it up, sing it clearer:
This is my Independent Era

(Verse 2)
Villain era but make it cute,
Boundaries up, yeah, absolute.
I dance alone, but the floor’s all mine,
Livin’ my best life, wine glass held high.

Can’t text back, I’m busy thrivin’,
Solo lane, and I’m still drivin’.
Every heartbreak made me hotter
Thank you, next, I found my power.

(Pre-Chorus)
Mirror says Girl, you made it
Every red flag? I evaded.
Feelin’ fierce, unapologetic,
My single life’s magnetic!

(Chorus)
I’m in my independent era,
Hot girl glow, no mascara.
CEO of me, I’m the terror
of anyone tryin' to dim my flair, uh!
Me season, glow-up fever,
Self-partnered, I’m my own believer.
Turn it up, sing it clearer:
This is my Independent Era

(Bridge)
No drama, just dopamine,
I’m my own damn dream team.
From heartbreak to headline scene
call it my redemption theme!

(Final Chorus)
Independent era, sing it louder
Soft life, self-love superpower.
CEO of me, I’m prouder
than I’ve ever been before!
Me season, glow-up fever,
Villain smile, main-character diva.
Raise your glass, everybody cheer up
We’re in our Independent Era
