About This Song

This song is written from the perspective of the main character of "All I wanna do is make love to you". Many years down the road she just wants to remember that amazing night.

Feedback Requested

This one is a little out of my normal genre but I wanted to keep it close to the original song's character. I would love any feedback.

Really good vibe! The passion translates really well. Also, a very interesting concept, writing a song from the perspective of a character in another song. Something I never thought of doing before. Probably a wealth of potential creativity in exploring those universes. Really cool and interesting.

Memory of Another Night

Written by CHRISTINE JOY

Verse 1
Would I be out of line if I asked you if you’d mind not talking?

We both know this isn’t right, but baby for tonight I want to lose myself.

In another place, in another time,
In the arms of a man who once was mine.
I want to pretend I’m back with him—oh, if you really wouldn’t mind.

Pre-Chorus
And if the music’s soft and the lights are low,
We’ll dance in the shadows where nobody knows.
Just for tonight, let the past unwind,
And I’ll hold you like one who once was mine.

Chorus
Don’t tell me that you love me, just show me in your touch.
I don’t need forever, tonight will be enough.
Whisper in my ear, that we will be alright.
Then I'll let go and drown myself in the memory of another night.

Verse 2
Boundaries fade into grey,
And all these lines get crossed.

Life's a maze in a morning haze—
Sometimes we get lost.

We're left to pray against the light of day, least it comes too soon.

‘Cause in the dark’s where I fall apart—will you catch me when I do?

Pre-Chorus (repeat)
And if the music’s soft and the lights are low,
We’ll dance in the shadows where nobody knows.
Just for tonight, let the past unwind,
And I’ll hold you like one who once was mine.

Chorus
Don’t tell me that you love me — just show me in your touch.
I don’t need forever, one night is enough.
Whisper in my ear that we’ll be alright,
Then I’ll let go, and drown myself in the memory of another night.

Bridge
When the morning light comes creeping, we’ll both just walk away.
Two strangers with a secret, deep in our hearts tucked away.
We’ll step out of this dream and leave it all behind,
But for now, hold me close — and let’s blur out the lines.

Final Chorus
Don’t tell me that you love me — just show me in your touch.
I don’t need forever, one night is enough.
Whisper in my ear that we’ll be alright,
Then I’ll let go, and drown myself in the memory of another night.

(in the memory of another night…)
