About This Song

Just kind of how I was feeling that day. The lyrics, original vocals and tune are mine with Suno used to complete the song (both cover vocals and music)

Feedback Requested

I would love any feedback and also any cowriting opportunities

Really strong chorus! My only thought is the pre-chorus could use a touch more differentiation (lift on both lines) Love the subject matter and the melody!

Not so happily ever after

Written by CHRISTINE JOY

[Verse 1]
The coffee's cold, the sink is full,
Kids' backpacks scattered down the hall.
A wedding photo gathering dust,
Did I lose myself in all this trust?
The clock ticks loud, the silence grows,
Is this the path I chose?

[Prechorus]
Once I dreamed of castles high,
Now I just sweep the crumbs goodbye.

[Chorus]
Is this my not-so-happily ever after?
Fairy tales fade to dishes and disaster.
Where's the laughter, where's the light?
Is it gone, or just out of sight?
Is this my not-so-happily ever after?

[Verse 2]
The mirror shows a face I don't know,
Lines of worry, love, and letting go.
I traded my dreams for their small hands,
But I miss the woman who made big plans.
The nights are long, the stars don't shine,
I keep waiting for a sign.

[Prechorus]
Once I danced beneath the moon,
Now I hum a tired, worn-out tune.

[Chorus]
Is this my not-so-happily ever after?
Fairy tales fade to dishes and disaster.
Where's the laughter, where's the light?
Is it gone, or just out of sight?
Is this my not-so-happily ever after?
