Daughters or Sons

Written by Tim Dowling

Someone once asked me, Daughters or Sons,
If I had to pick, cause I could only have one,
Guess it don’t matter, but if you’re hold’en a gun,
A man with daughters, well he’s a fortunate one.

Now I’ve two daughters, different as can be,
One studies the law, one’s light and carefree,
They sing link angels, man it’s a site to see.
They’re my pride and my joy. They’re my Joshua tree

sons or daughters, daughters or sons,
So much of the world, well they favor just one.
So if you ask me what favor I hold,
Well brother my daughters, they’re my heart and my soul.

Pop broke his hip, getting outa the bath,
Mom brought in donuts, for the medical staff,
And when the Phillies were playin, and he had no tv,
She played the game on her phone, so her Daddy could see.

sons or daughters, daughters or sons,
So much of the world, well they favor just one.
So if you ask me what favor I hold,
Well brother my daughters, they’re my heart and my soul.

So if you’re askin’, which sex if the best,
who’ll carry you home, when their put to the test.
I’ll take daughters, every day of the week,
Like the ones that I have, like their Mother and me.
