About This Song

I live in the tropics on an island called Saint Lucia, where tourism is our main revenue earner. During my interactions with hotel guests, I came up with the inspiration for this song. To spend Christmas in the Caribbean during the winter months, would be an ideal way to enjoy the holidays. That's the reason why the tourists arrival statistics are the highest between December and January every year, especially from North America & Europe.

Christmas on an Island Shore

Written by Emmanuel Carlos St.Omer

Christmas on an Island Shore
Verse 1
I read online about a place where it’s always summer
That seemed like the perfect gift for my girl in winter
Adventurous as me
She’d always agree
We flew out to the tropics
I had a feeling this trip would be worth it, woohuu yeah
Chorus 1
The ad said in December, you won’t miss your Chevy
Because you and your baby, will be riding waves on a jet ski
Draw two hearts and write your names in the pristine white sand
Bathe your skin in sunshine till you get that golden suntan
Fall in love once more
Spending Christmas on an island shore, that’s for sure
Verse 2
We landed just in time for the Christmas celebrations
To our delight the band was playing old familiar carols
What a surprise
To hear silent night
In steel drum Calypso
We kissed under the stars in place of mistletoe, woohuu yeah
Chorus 2
On the dinner menu, we ordered Lobster creole
And watched the limbo dancers bending lower to the drum roll
Nights of rum punch parties and days of new adventures
Natures walks and Scuba diving tours for hidden treasures
We fell in love once more
Spending Christmas on an island shore, that’s for sure
Verse 3
Via social media, we posted lots of pictures
To send our families of us and to make our close friends jealous
We danced our last night
Under the moonlight
To Christmas songs in reggae
Like Grandma got ran over by a reindeer, woohuu yeah
Chorus 3
As we waved our goodbyes, the hotel’s staff were in tears
But the manager was smiling, he said “hope to see you next year”
Everybody back home said we glowed like summer
My heart tells me this experience is far from over
Cause we found love once more
Spending Christmas on an island shore, that’s for sure
Spending Christmas on an island shore
